This 40-hour course will provide the participants with first-hand knowledge of bloodstain pattern analysis. The course is divided into both lecture and laboratory sessions. The theoretical and fundamental principles of the discipline will be illustrated in the lecture segments and then will be reinforced in the laboratory segments with hands on applications. Each student will be afforded the opportunity to learn how blood reacts under known conditions and create reference patterns for future use.

Upon completion of this course, the participants will have acquired a basic understanding of how bloodstain pattern analysis will assist in their investigation of crime scenes where blood has been shed.

This course is well aligned with the recommended 40-hour course curriculum set forth by the International Association of Bloodstain Pattern Analysts and has been designed for investigators, crime scene technicians, forensic scientists, attorneys, and medico-legal investigators.
